MBFW – New York

I am lucky to be able to say there have been many moments in my life that will remain engrained in my memory.

Today was one of them (for the non-mummy side of me) – the world spun off it’s axis!
My first ever attendance to a MBFW show.
Watching the Tracy Reese show was exhilarating. The energy – the people – the lights – the music.

Firstly my hair was given volume (a constant mission of mine) by Don, the fabulous TRESemme stylist in their two story hair salon!

Second, I somehow managed to warrant a seating position!!
Obviously not the front row (reserved for the likes of Bloomingdales, important fashion and NY press and celebrities).
Row 1 position 1 – reserved for one of my favourites..

Then there was the clothes, beautiful, colourful, with sharp structured angles around necklines mixed with flowing spring fabrics, beading and embroidery. My favourites included a stunning blue jumpsuit and a beaded halter shift.

We even witnessed a nipple-gate episode, with a very deeply cut jacket not sitting and covering what it should. Dealt with by the poor model in the most professional manner, the slipped jacket was placed back within seconds, not a beat missed.

Celebrity spottings included: Shenae Grimes (see below), Lauren Conrad and George Kotsiopoulos.

What an experience…

Shoe situation

There is a joyous new shoe purchase – then there is a shoe procedure to follow.

You buy the Louboutin shoes.
You leave the Louboutin shoes in the brown box, wrapped in the original white paper and with the red dust bag protecting them, maybe for a month.
You check in on them every few days, to marvel and their beauty.
You may then take the Louboutin’s out for their first public appearance. BUT, somewhere you know they will be safe and only on carpet (we don’t want to damage those gorgeous signature red soles).
You continue to protect the red soles by only venturing with them on carpet, for another few months.

After the above procedure, you are ready, ready to take them into the world and into potentially damaging pavements.

The shoe situation i find myself in, is this….
It is NY Fashion Week, luck has landed me a ticket. I have the perfect shoes to wear to the show. However my “Disconoeud 140” have only been owned for just over a month – not even out on carpet for their first public appearance yet…. What do I do? Do I go against the above and wear them?

Surely NY Fashion week trumps the normal shoe procedure and is the perfect place to debut them…!?!?!
HELL YES I AM WEARING THEM!!
