I was lucky enough to spend the Memorial Day holiday weekend in the South, by the beach.
The Isle of Palms, just twenty minutes out of Charleston, was beautiful. Long beaches, perfect weather – an amazing escape.
My tropic inspired dress comes courtesy of H&M – and their conscious collection.
So now you can feel good about a cute dress, at an incredible price, WHILE doing something better for the environment. Win, win and win.
Teamed up with some cute spring pumps, and my new venture the BIG HAT!
I have always been terrified of the large brimmed hat, but finally made the leap. Thoughts?

As soon as you put shiny black pants on – your inner rockstar cheers!
Mixing up my new favourite waxed black jeans with some bright reds. To this I added some silver and sparkle – then completed the look with a messy up do.
St. Parick’s day doesn’t need to be filled just with tacky green accessories – and leave you questioning if you can ever wear green. There are plenty of beautiful, fashionable items to adorn for the festivities.
Some green-spiration for the Irish in all of us!

Not going to lie – I do love a gift.
Not going to lie – I do like to help my husband with subtle hints each year to make his shopping trip quick and painless.
Subtle hints usually include magazines left open with wanted item circled and links to my birthday wish-list pinterest board.
Or the best approach, really, is just to email the want list with links directly to purchase source!!
And it is that time again – the week of my birthday!
Although I do like to make it a month long celebration.
This year I thought I would add a blog post to my “subtle” hints to the perfect present purchase for my husband!

The Standard NYC is certainly anything but.
I mean look – if it’s good enough for Brad and Ange (who have partied there) then it’s good enough for me 🙂
From the outset, when you step out of your yellow taxi onto the charming Meatpacking District cobblestone street, you are hit with the amazing smell coming from the grill.
Then luxury engulfs you as enter the hotel foyer. From the dimly light sleek looking foyer – to the elevators video installation by Marco Brambilla, you know you are in for a treat and this is going to be one of those quintessential NYC experiences.
This was the setting for Lucky Magazines “Ultimate Style Guide” celebration, suiting venue indeed.
With the amazing TRESemmé stylists Tyler & Jeanie on hand to add hair glamour to a room overflowing with it, it was time to talk style.
From a short pink sequinned dress I spotted (possibly my favourite of the night), braided hair creations that would take me a week to complete, shoe and handbags to drool over, and delicious treats of both the food and beverage variety. I may have eaten more than one lobster roll and enjoyed a vodka cocktail (maybe two!)
Armani Exchange dress, black tights, a decorative feather headband and black Christian Louboutin Decollete pumps to complete the look.
There is a joyous new shoe purchase – then there is a shoe procedure to follow.
You buy the Louboutin shoes. You leave the Louboutin shoes in the brown box, wrapped in the original white paper and with the red dust bag protecting them, maybe for a month. You check in on them every few days, to marvel and their beauty. You may then take the Louboutin’s out for their first public appearance. BUT, somewhere you know they will be safe and only on carpet (we don’t want to damage those gorgeous signature red soles). You continue to protect the red soles by only venturing with them on carpet, for another few months.
After the above procedure, you are ready, ready to take them into the world and into potentially damaging pavements.
The shoe situation i find myself in, is this….
It is NY Fashion Week, luck has landed me a ticket. I have the perfect shoes to wear to the show. However my “Disconoeud 140” have only been owned for just over a month – not even out on carpet for their first public appearance yet…. What do I do? Do I go against the above and wear them?
Surely NY Fashion week trumps the normal shoe procedure and is the perfect place to debut them…!?!?! HELL YES I AM WEARING THEM!!
