Forget the LBD (ok jokes) – but, what about the LITTLE BLACK SHORTS?
I love them in spring, I love them in summer.
I love them casual, i love them dressy.
I love them on The Hart Of Dixie and the resulting disruption they cause to the town of Bluebell.
This past Sunday, I channeled my inner Zoe Hart and took my favourite little black shorts out to Brooklyn.
Teamed up with a summery colour blocked tank – and my new Manolo Blahniks (their first excursion!!)
Brooklyn Bridget Park – view of Manhattan Bridge
Brooklyn Bridget Park – view of Brooklyn Bridge & lower Manhattan
A truly perfect day in the sun.
Attractive men battling it out while riding beautiful horses was already a seller. Throw in champagne, a postcard perfect view, an excuse to get dressed up and there is no way you could keep me away!
Welcome – to the 2013 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic…
I was determined that the flu would not get me down.
Loaded with DayQuil and a tonne of foundation I was off to date night.
Whenever in doubt (or feeling awful)… black is always best!
Therefore, out came the LBD.
Mixed with some subtle splashes of gold (and a jewel on the shoe) for colour.
Last but not least, a fun manicure.
Everything is better after a touch of pampering.
I am generally very boring with my colour choice (OPI Big Apple Red every time).
This time I stepped out of the comfort zone and went with a deep purple (OPI Vant to bite my neck) and a glitter feature nail.
Loving the feature nail as it let’s you have some fun, without having to commit to a full hand of glitter.
Love the see through arms – adding that something special to a simple LBD.
SABA trench coat (and freezing legs – is it spring yet????)
The outfit – black with black!
Jimmy Choo clutch with gold hardware and tassels.
Love these Jimmy Choo pumps with some gold and a jewel for colour.
You had me at high-tea, but make it at The Plaza with some lovely ladies and I am there in a heartbeat.
The place is luscious. From the flowers that greet you just past the main entrance, to the decadent decor beyond.
Who can forget the Carrie and Big conversation outside his engagement party “Your girl is lovely, Hubbel”, to the real life wedding of celebrities such as Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
There are many reason why even the “worst” room (broom closet) costs half a monthly mortgage repayment and the wait-list for a Saturday summer wedding is longer than fifth avenue!
A delightful afternoon spent in opulent New York fashion…
The New York high tea option
The Palm Court @ The Plaza
Floral arrangement just past main entry
Central Park backdrop wall
Private Residence entrance – yes please!!

What to wear to this lavish occasion?
Pleated dress (similar here), belt from Bondi Beach markets years ago (similar here), Guess jacket, Gucci clutch & Saks Fifth Avenue nude pumps.
