Romance NYC Style

Summertime should not preclude you from wearing black.
Au contraire – you just need to make it feel more summery with some florals, or a splash of colour!

My favourite colour this season has to be anything in the coral family. I am finding myself drawn to anything coral spotted on the rack.
So pretty and feminine.

So here is my version of a summertime “black” outfit.

Short Shorts

Forget the LBD (ok jokes) – but, what about the LITTLE BLACK SHORTS?

I love them in spring, I love them in summer.
I love them casual, i love them dressy.
I love them on The Hart Of Dixie and the resulting disruption they cause to the town of Bluebell.

This past Sunday, I channeled my inner Zoe Hart and took my favourite little black shorts out to Brooklyn.
Teamed up with a summery colour blocked tank – and my new Manolo Blahniks (their first excursion!!)

Ev & The City – Charleston Edition

I am pretty much ready to run away to the South!
After a few days, I have fallen deeply in love with Charleston.

The food (yes I tried grits, and no they are not for me!), the cute buildings running along cobblestone streets, the history, markets, horse drawn carriages…
Added to this, it was perfect warm weather every day.
Ohhh so dreamy – leaving me in a pastel frame of mind.

Trying something new with my hair – I have finally purchased the hair donut (a few dollars from H&M – and they stock various sizes to suit everyone).
Result – AWESOME. It was super easy and took me no more than two minutes!!

Under the boardwalk…

I was lucky enough to spend the Memorial Day holiday weekend in the South, by the beach.
The Isle of Palms, just twenty minutes out of Charleston, was beautiful. Long beaches, perfect weather – an amazing escape.

My tropic inspired dress comes courtesy of H&M – and their conscious collection.
So now you can feel good about a cute dress, at an incredible price, WHILE doing something better for the environment. Win, win and win.

Teamed up with some cute spring pumps, and my new venture the BIG HAT!
I have always been terrified of the large brimmed hat, but finally made the leap. Thoughts?

While black and gold may be a classic combination, throw in shiny gold pants and what you have is anything but classic.
I love these statement gold Zara pants. They can be super dressy, or made more daytime dependant on what you pair them with.

Absolutely in love with this spin on a classic black shirt – sheer tails!! So much fun.

The outfit was made complete with some black & gold accessories.
Now don’t also forget the springtime pop of nail colour – here I opted for California Coral by Essie.
