A Jump Of Faith…

To jump(suit) or not to jump(suit) – that is the question.
I have taken a jump of faith, and finally embraced this scary piece of fashion.

In my mind you had to be six-foot-ten and a size to zero to step out in this one piece creation.
I have tested (with a simple, safe plain black one) – and can happily say I have embraced!

Some gold accessories added, a little wedge, and I enjoyed my first rendezvous with a jumpsuit!

Who knows – maybe I’ll be brave enough to be in colorful jumpsuits next!

Little BLUE Jacket

I have been patiently (well mostly) waiting for the weather to be warm enough for me to rip the price tag off with glee and skip outside!!
Bewitched by this colour.
Infatuated with my new little blue jacket.

Casual lunch, shopping, work…it is just so versatile and fun.

Date Night!

I was determined that the flu would not get me down.
Loaded with DayQuil and a tonne of foundation I was off to date night.

Whenever in doubt (or feeling awful)… black is always best!
Therefore, out came the LBD.
Mixed with some subtle splashes of gold (and a jewel on the shoe) for colour.

Last but not least, a fun manicure.
Everything is better after a touch of pampering.
I am generally very boring with my colour choice (OPI Big Apple Red every time).
This time I stepped out of the comfort zone and went with a deep purple (OPI Vant to bite my neck) and a glitter feature nail.
Loving the feature nail as it let’s you have some fun, without having to commit to a full hand of glitter.

Love the see through arms - adding that something special to a simple LBD.

Green Glam

St. Parick’s day doesn’t need to be filled just with tacky green accessories – and leave you questioning if you can ever wear green. There are plenty of beautiful, fashionable items to adorn for the festivities.
Some green-spiration for the Irish in all of us!

A museum and a martini…

A perfect NYC day…
It started with a visit to the Guggenheim Museum to peruse their current exhibit, Picasso Black & White.
It culminated in a quaint UES bar with a delicious pear & cinnamon martini.

Drawing on the days planned adventure I used Picasso’s black and white theme as a basis for my outfit colour palette.

Top – BCBGMaxazria
Jeans – DL1961
Shoes – Peep Toe

While I have to admit not all Picasso works are created equal, I did want to share two of my favourite pieces from the exhibit with you.
From the very beautiful to the very disturbing, the collection displayed is incredible viewing.

Now if only I was one of those fortunate enough to have a Picasso in my private collection…

Colour, sparkle & shine – always sublime!

Sparkles and colour are always a nice outfit addition – holiday season or not (though I for one am in denial that the holidays have past).
Ready for wherever the days adventure may take you. Coffee with the girls, a stroll through the city, or a sneaky early evening cocktail.

Mix black with some bold coloured garments and throw in a sparkly jacket – off you go.

Being on another continent these past few weeks has certainly not stopped me shopping, and these seasons sales were good to me!.
Here are just a few of the finds I am loving at the moment.

Pop on this MANGO cropped Sequins & Beads jacket, paired with this fun MANGO Maxi Studs top.
(Speaking of MANGO – how good does Kate Moss look in their campaign. GORGE!!)

Now we all want to brighten up our winter – an easy way to do it is with some bold pants.
I found these great bright red pair on the sale rack at H&M! They are super comfortable, with a nice cut suitable for either work or play!

Every outfit is at it’s best when finished off with a Louboutin shoe – here with the gorgeous “Decollete” glossy leather pump.

Sparkle the winter away…

Shoe Sunday…

Although I was not going to go to the Black Friday sales post Thanksgiving…. they seemed to be calling my name.
Taunting me. Encouraging me.

Especially Bloomingdales. I mean I am practically next door to it. If the crowds are really that bad, I’ll just leave. Right?
Well, to my delight, it was near empty upon my early arrival (the early rising of children being a blessing on this day).

I had a goal, I had a purpose.
Shoes.
Black boots to be more specific. Practical winter boots that will be wearable in the NY weather.

Cole Haan Boots

Mission accomplished.
They could be worn in a NYC winter, however were still pretty with at least a small heel, and worked with jeans or a skirt.

Now for every practical pair of shoes, every girl needs a pretty pair of shoes.
And pretty is what I found.

Sparkly and fun. These are sure to brighten up any black winter ensemble.
All for a bargain price.

I left not only a very happy shopper with some fabulous shoes, I left feeling very mature, sensible and grown up.
In addition to my shoes purchases (and one or two clothing pieces)… I had actually purchased some amazing new pots and pans to further develop my culinary skills.
Black Friday – i love thee.

Until next year.

Planes, trains and Jimmy Choo’s

My four-foot-nothing height has lead me to constantly seek that extra few inches.
So I live in heels. I can walk, jog, run, climb, cook, clean – you name it, and I could do it in heels.

Now there is a difference between being able to do something in heels – and wanting to.
I don’t particularly want to travel in them. I certainly do not, I repeat DO NOT, want to wear my precious heel on the NYC subway.

Pretty shoes, such pretty shoes, in the smelly, dirty subway. NO NO NO NO NO.
Shoes are like a work of art to me. I cannot and will not walk around carelessly destroying their delicate designs, scratching my favourite red soles.
I mean I did on occasion. Believe me I was not happy about it. I needed a solution to keep me sane on my daily subway ride to and from work.

If I was to be caught wearing flats, they better be pretty. Seriously.
Jimmy Choo flats – enter stage left. Gorgeous, comfortable and practical for the subway.

They have however had their time and I have literally worn them to death.

Ripped backs, lost JC plate, lost flower on one….
Goodbye to my Choo.

Obviously the proof of subway dangers lies in my unwearable Choo’s. But what now? Which shoe can replace my travel companion?
So some new choices need to be made.
